Scolari eyes the Quadruple
Posted by InsaneSoccer on 2008-07-29

New Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has said that he see's no reason why Chelsea should not win Quadruple trophies this season. He also knows which players he needs in the squad to help him achieve it.

During the last season Chelsea were pipped at the post in the Champions League and the Premiership, both by Manchester United.

Scolari is said to have set himself a goal of winning a minimum of one trophy in the coming season but thinks that there is a a good chance of far more with some entertaining live football thrown in..

Scolari said,

"We have a total of four competitions in the coming season and I see no reason why we shouldn't win all four. Chelsea have been very good in giving me everything I asked for, I know we have a squad capable of winning well this season. Last season Chelsea were present in 3 finals, I want that again but this time with different results."

To enable his team to win, Scolari has said that he needs to build his team around a core of key players. He might have not had long with the team but he says it is already apparent who his key players are.

Chelsea's opening game for the 09-09 Premiership title takes place against Portsmouth on August the 17th, by then we should see a Chelsea squad that is capable of great things.
