Champions League second round report
Posted by Ace on 2008-02-20

The UEFA Champions League has shown some great football on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. The 8 games have provided all the ingredients that describe the spectacular football. There haven't been registered any major upsets in the 8 matches played this week. Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester United have taken a serious option for advancing to the UCL quarter-finals.

The Cormorants won 2-0 at home in front of Inter Milan. It was a late win obtained in the last 5 minutes. Chelsea played a 0-0 draw in Greece, while Barcelona won last night, 3-2 in Scotland, against Celtic in one of the greatest matches of this round. Sir Alex Ferguson's side obtained a 1-1 draw in France against Lyon in a game that ended a few hours ago.

The match between the outsiders Fenerbahce and Sevilla ended with the 3-2 win of the Turkish side, after another spectacular game of this Champions League round.

A series of 3 other pairings remain with equal chances for each side involved. We can speak here about: AS Roma and Real Madrid. The Italian side won 2-1 at home, but Real has still good chances the turn the score around at the Santiago Bernabeu. Schalke defeated FC Porto with 1-0, but as the events unfolded at the Veltnis Arena, FC Porto can turn around the faith of this meeting in Portugal. And, last but not least, one of the most expected games of this stage of the competition, Arsenal and AC Milan played a goalless draw, a few hours ago at the Emirates Stadium, as you could see if you followed the live online football coverage. This makes everything possible in the second leg game at the San Siro.
